And just as its people have contributed, so that they have a legacy in it, so that history will be remembered for him. Among these are we {Khalil Maamoon}.

The first to contribute to the idea of the hookah, since 1873, and to this day he still greets Al-Hussein neighborhood with the prominent sign that we presented.

At the beginning of 1873, we had the beginning, where the departure of the late / Mamoun Al-Shishi, the great-grandfather who started his trade in a street called (Timbukshi), and still revives this street with this name

The name of the timbakchia means relative to the gathering of timbak traders, who brought with him timbak, and some imported it from India and Yemen, as well as from Africa with the communities coming from there. The hookah at this time was a piece of wood that had the characteristics of a hookah and bears the nature of the old hookah and it was It is also made of coconut, and the great-grandfather, Mamoon Al-Shishi, established the first workshop for the manufacture of shisha in this place.

– Then his son took over after him and not next to him, as it was said (not the successor on the path of the ancestor) the late Khalil Mamoun Al-Shishi in 1930, who added a new element to the contents of the hookah that was not included in it and made it from metals, the most famous of which is copper, and also the fact that it was the first exhibition that included his products It is still standing at 92 Al-Moez Li-Din Allah Al-Fatimi Street.
